OUR FAMILY MIGRATIONS: My Family's Immigrations to America, From All Over The World

As a family project, my remaining siblings and only 2 first cousins got our DNA tested, and that led to some unexpected and, up until now, unexplored ancestral pathways. We discovered that we had roots in 5 of the 7 continents of the world that were not known to us before (and in Oceania). We found far-flung ancestral ties that, at first blush, flummoxed us — before further research began to make sense of these seemingly disparate findings. As the information flowed in, I decided to write biographies of the family members, as a way of documenting each of their lives, careers, and lineages. I also wanted to document, as much as possible, what I had learned about the migration lineages, which I found utterly fascinating. At some point, I decided that the best way to keep track of all of this information would be to bind the biographies and migrations into book form; and, Voila! . . . this book was born. Read more
