  • Vintage Homco Figurine, #1258 Boy with Grape Baskets, Tuscany Grapes Harvest, Old World Man Grape Picker, Man Only, Wine Room Decor, Mediterranean Traditional Home Decor, Figurine Collectors, (Retired)
  • Vintage: 1970's - 1980's
  • Details:  This is part of HomCo's set of a boy and girl carrying grapes, we believe it was called "Vineyard Harvest".  This is the boy only, a great piece if you're looking to replace a broken figurine.  He looks like a Victorian Italian grape farmer (Vigneron), carrying his bounty for the day.  He is made of bisque porcelain in soft, muted colors: Olive Green, Yellow, Purple and Orange.  Hi basket is loaded with purple grapes with large green leaves. We love these colors for Fall and Spring. He retains the original HomCo foil sticker and is stamped with collection number 1258.  If you're looking for the complete set, we also carry the pair, boy and girl together.
  • Material:  Porcelain
  • Dimensions:  8.0 inches Tall, 3.5 inches Wide (at its widest point)
  • Condition:  Vintage - Used.  Excellent Condition.  There are no chips, cracks, or scratches.  Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns.  Please remember these are VINTAGE and ANTIQUE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear and tear and imperfections.

HomCo (Home Interiors & Gifts), was founded by Mary C. Crowley in Carrollton, Texas on December 5, 1957.  Mary structured the company much like Mary Kay Cosmetics, Avon and others who had mostly women selling door to door and at home parties.  They purchased items mostly from Asian manufacturers like China, Taiwan, and the Philippines and distributed them through their distribution network. The company celebrated its 25th anniversary in 1983 and had grown sales to $400 million.  Sadly, Mary Crowley died of cancer in 1987, Don Carter, her second husband, became president and CEO and by the early 1990's the company had sales of over $850 million, with some 42,000 independent sales people.  In 1994 Don wanted to retire, the company was sold to the investment firm of Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst in a $1 billion leveraged buyout.  However, by April 29, 2008 they filed for bankruptcy.  After bankruptcy Home Interiors was bought by the owners and founders of Home & Garden Party.  In 2009 they merged the two companies renaming it Celebrating Home and it continues to operate from Home and Garden Party's headquarters in Marshall, TX.
